5th in ARWC in Tasmania

The team has now arrived from Tasmania and the AR World Championship. The team has some bad luck when the ordinary team member Scott Cole got sick some days before the start and a replacer had to call in. Jarad Kohlar from Australian was avalible and was happy to join the team the day before the start.
The race took the team över 6 days and night of racing.

Tasmania pre camp 2, 2011

During the weekend team AXA had the second traningcamp before the World Champsionship in Tasmania. This time biking and trekking was on the schedule. The camp started friday evening with a six hour biking and in a perfect weather with -2C degrees, down to Nätra Fjällskog where the team got a few hours of sleep before the long following trek during Saturday, followed with a biking back to Örnsköldsvik again. Great camp with totally 7 people participated.

Playitas "AXA traningcamp 2012"

On monday a big advertising campaign will start with AXA - with the team in focus. The campaign will be in over 2000 large and medium groserystores across the whole nation, where the winners will be invited to the webpage and compete about a traningweek togheter with the team in Playitas in Fuerteventura in april 2012.


A little sneak peek on the webpage that soon will be up running and great possibilites to win great prizes.

Tasmania pre camp 2011

With little more than one month left to the AR World Championship in Tasmania, AXA had the first of two precamp in the High Coast Area. Kayakpaddling and trekking was on the schedule this day.

"Friluftssport och äventyrsidrott"

Mikael was invited to be one of the authors and write about adventure racing in a 240 pages book, that will be used in teaching environment. The book have just been released and is called "Friluftssport och äventyrsidrott".

Wulong Mountain Quest, China

The team has been in China an participated in Wulong Mountain Quest. The team preformed really well with two days on the podium but had a some bad luck with many punctures on the bikesections - but all teams have their problems so the team was happy becoming fourth in the total.

Victory in Stockholm Extreme

During the weekend Stockholm Extreme was held in our capital Stockholm. It was a great race with all Swedish teams on place and the competition was hard. It is the only 4coed team race in Sweden at this moment. The race was superfast all from the beginning and AXA won after about 19 hours of racing.


The victory was celebrated directly at the finishline.

Trek World 2012

Mikael and Helena is taking part of Trek World 2012 in Mayrhofen in Austria. Trek is showing their coming bikes for 2012 and via Outside who will take part of this news, Helena and Mikael is on place and will be reporting.


Mikael made a great and exciting intervju with the legend Gary Fisher, that will come in Outside!!


Over 300 bikes was shown in the huge tent, just waiting for getting really tested out in the alps.

Åre traningcamp / Åre Extreme Challenge

AXA Sports Club have made a traningcamp before Åre Extreme Challenge. The camp contained traning on the course, technic tips on the coures, food, transitions etc, lectures about nutrition, training and adventure racing. All participants also got supernice giveaways from parnters to the camp. The traningcamp "basecamp" was on Hotell Tott Åre, where all the accommondation and food took place. During this week the swedish skiteam olympic chef also was responsible for the food.

The grandfinale of the traningcamp was Åre Extreme that was held during Saturday and AXA Sports Club had all four guys in topp ten, with the 1st, 2nd, 9th and 10th place!

Mikael also had two of his trainingnovices - that he have been traning for one year and they have made a great sucess in their traning - ending on first place in the two-person team category.

Nisse Kjellberg and Simon Niemi made a great race and finished on first place, in two-person team. A great effort and a remacable time of 5h20min after been following Mikaels traningschedule during one year.
