Sports Events
HC Adventure has arranged events and adventure races from 2001. Started small with a race called High Coast 400, with some Swedish teams racing. After that the company got more confidence and developed the entire idea of making good adventure races in Sweden.
The year 2005 the company was established in the Adventure Racing Series, a worldwide series with the top AR races, winning an AR series race gives a team a free entry to the Adventure Racing World Championship.
HC Adventure arranged the Adventure Racing World Championship 2006, a big event with huge media coverage, both Swedish as well as international. On the start line you found every world class team. The race got the best criticism and was ranked to be one of the best races ever made by the racers.
Swedish National Multisport Championships 2009
Where: Uppsala

The fourth edition of the Swedish Championship in multisport took place in Uppsala, and had 163 teams on startline. The race was a 6 hours race and two person’s teams in men, women or mixed category. The disciplines was: running/orienteering, paddling, mountainbiking and inlines. The speaker Per Forsberg gave the spectators the best info from the race.

Explore Sweden, Monster 2009
Where: Sundsvall to Sundsvall via, Ånge, Åre and Sollefteå.

Explore Sweden Monster, with a total distance of 1000 km attracted 22 teams from all over the world. The race started in Sundsvall with fast and short loops in the city. The start of the race was at the same time as the yearly Sundsvall Street festival took place, so a lot of audiences were following the race that also was shown live on tv-screen in the transition area located in the park middle in Sundsvalls centre, and a speaker keeping the race together.
After the loops in Sundsvall the racers took of towards the boarder of Norway, passed Ånge and the “monster festival”on the way, that was arranged only because the race passed by. Then the teams made a huge mountaintraverse over “Sylarna” then to Åre for riverrafting, riverboard, downhillbiking, and then to Sollefteå where Sollefteå also put up a great party and served all teams local food when entering.
The race then ended in Sundsvall after a sailing, a short paddling and finished with a climb up to hotel Södraberget where the prizegivning and banquet was held.
Explore Sweden 2008
Where: High Coast Area, Örnsköldsvik

For the third year Explore Sweden was held in the High Coast Area. The teams started in the middle of the night at 00.00 and finished after 3 ½ days.
The race started in the town Örnsköldsvik, but teams where soon out on the ocean doing a spectacular island traversing, swimming in the ocean and running on the island, down the High Coast. The team continued with bikes, running and a big technical ropesection in Skuleberget with via-ferrata, 180m repelling and a highrope couse.
The teams made a huge paddling, inlines and the finished at the top of the mountain in Örnsköldsvik.

Svenska Mästerskapen i multisport (Swedish Championship in adventure racing)
The race took place in Bogesund, in our capital Stockholm. The race was open for two persons team, men, woman or mixed and had a race time of 5 hours 40 minutes. During this 6 hours the teams changed disciplines between; running/orienteering, paddling and mountainbike. The race had totally 116 teams.

The Swedish National Championships in Adventure racing was arranged in the stunningly beautiful High Coast Area. The race had a winning time of almost 12 hours and started at midnight. The teams paddled in the well known High Coast archipelago, biked along, at some parts very technical, trails, was running and orienteering through old woodlands, and was inline skating on brand new asphalt. The teams also made a spectacular Via Ferrata.
Multisport LIVE, 2007
Where: Stockholm, Wilderness fair

1 km kayak paddling, 3 km biking and jumar to the inner roof in the fair building. Heat of two teams with the “grande finale” on the last day of the fair. A lot of adrenaline, speed, a speaker screaming and a huge crowd cheering. Rock´n Roll!

The first long distance ice-skating race in Örnsköldsvik. The race was held in the middle of the coldest Swedish winter in snowstorm, but still happy faces after finish line.

Swedish National Multisport Championships 2006

For the first time in Sweden the national championship in multisport was arranged. The best Swedish teams were battling for winning the price money and the honoured title. 6 hours hardcore racing.

The very best teams in the world stood at the start line, and proudly after the race we have got the best evaluation and nice words that you ever can get as race organisers.
The following text is received from Sleepmonster.com from an interview made by Rob Howard, to Nike Powerblast's Ian Adamson, who won ARWC 2006 in Sweden/Norway:
"I've been racing for 22 years, and in my list of top adventure races this now one rates as number 1. It was a fantastic course with adventure everywhere, well-balanced, technical and so beautiful."
Those were the words of Ian Adamson, standing on the winners podium just after Nike Powerblast had crossed the line to become the 2006 Adventure Racing World Champions.

High Coast Open Winter, 2006
Where: Area around Örnsköldsvik

Two persons team racing. High Coast Open Winter was a series of three races, with a winning time of 2 hours. Now during wintertime the teams had to go snowshoeing, skiing, skating and running.
Explore Säfsen, 2005
Where: Säfsen, Dalarna

One long and one short course, 6hours/3 hours, with teams of two were racing in the genial ski resort Säfsen. It was a really fast race with the best teams in Sweden in the race.
High Coast Open, 2005
Where: Själevad, Örnsköldsvik

Two persons teams were fighting in a short adventure course with canoeing, running/orienteering, swimming and biking. High Coast Open was a series of tree races with a winning time of 2 hours.

Where: Kittelfjäll

This 4-day adventure race at destination Kittelfjäll had a unique combination in terrain, a perfect mix of high alpine terrain with snow and lowlands that was rapidly turning to summer. The race was held in the very best season when the sun was up for over 20 hours a day. The teams used skis and snowshoes, bikes and was paddling along narrow rivers with a lot of snow and ice in.
The race was member in the Adventure Racing World Series.
Explore Sweden Airborne Expedition Adventure Race, 2004
Where: High Coast Area, Kiruna/Kebnekaise, Umeå/Vindeln

The worlds first airborne adventure race took the racers to three secret destinations in Sweden. The teams were competing 24 hours at each destination and if a team didn´t make it to the flight before take off the team was out of the race. The racers were with crampons and ice axes climbing and punched the checkpoint up at the top of the highest mountain in Sweden – Kebnekaise.
This years Explore Sweden also got selected to be a member in the Adventure Racing World Series.
Explore Sweden Indoor Qualifier, 2004
Where: Stockholm, Wilderness fair

Indoor multisport race was a qualifier for the Explore Sweden Airborne Expedition Adventure Race. The winners got a free entry to that big race, that was held the same year.
High Coast 600, 2003
Where: High Coast Area, Örnsköldsvik/Kramfors

Northern Europe’s toughest non-stop adventure race took place in the High Coast world heritage area. The race was well covered with the TV and newspapers from all over the world. The race got a good reputation.
